Biosafety-related Meetings, Conferences, Courses, Workshops, ...
Topic: ICGEB Regional Workshop.
Topic: Symposium of the BBP (Belgian Biosafety Professionals).
Topic: 2 days of in-depth preconference classes and 2-1/2 days of discussions with experts who will share their knowledge and experiences in greening laboratories and animal facilities.
Topic: Principles & Practices of Biosafety will introduce the essential elements of biosafety and provide extensive resource lists for use after the course. Interactive exercises will be used throughout to provide hands-on experience and to encourage networking and problem-solving among participants and instructors. At the end of the course each participant will be able to: Describe potentially hazardous biological materials, the risks associated with their use, and the means to minimize risk and to protect against or prevent release or exposure; Discuss ways to provide effective technical expertise in situations involving potentially hazardous biological materials; Identify, locate, and efficiently use key biosafety resources.
Topic: ICGEB Meeting. The broad objective of this workshop is to provide experience in he examination of scientific and technical data submitted in applications for the deliberate release of genetically modified plants.
Topic: This conference is the annual industry meeting for capital project planners, project managers, engineering managers, research facility managers, research operations managers, research program administrators, space planners, animal facility and vivarium managers, scientists and researchers, EH&S and biosafety officers who are concerned with the latest developments in construction, operations, safety, regulatory compliance, standardization, and cost-control for biocontainment facilities.
Topic: Annual meeting of EBSA (European Biosafety Association).
Topic: The conference aims at compiling methods and strategies, which address the issues related to large scale cultivation of GM plants. Topics include empirical work related to risk assessment, theoretical concepts, as well as methodological aspects facing large spatial and temporal dimensions. Strategies to assess and manage GMO shall be linked and compared with the regulation and management of systemic risks in other fields of science and technology.
Topic: IFBA’s 2nd International Conference will take place immediately following the annual conference of the African Biological Safety Association (AfBSA), to be held June 24-27, 2012 in Johannesburg, South Africa. The IFBA conference provides a unique forum for policy makers, stakeholders, donors, international agencies and governments to interact with the African biosafety community and advance global biosafety and biosecurity.
Topic: The ISBGMO is a unique opportunity for scientists from across the globe to share experiences and engage in open and meaningful dialogue about biosafety. Participants include scientists involved in biosafety research and policy, including regulatory authorities, technology developers, academics, non-government organizations, and other credible stakeholders. The discussion at this ISBGMO12 will be focused on a theme: CONSIDERING BIOSAFETY IN THE APPLICATION OF BIOTECHNOLOGY TO MEET THE CHANGING NEEDS OF AGRICULTURE, HEALTH, AND THE ENVIRONMENT.
Topic: The aim of the symposium is to create a platform for sharing information about the strategies, the programmes, the proposals of international institutions (WHO, NATO, UN, EU Commission, USA) in the field of biosafety and biosecurity. The symposium brings together outstanding international experts and presents key topics and ideas on the latest researches, technologies and strategic programmes on the subject.
Topic: Annual meeting of ABSA (American Biological Safety Association).
